Funeral flowers are a popular tradition in many countries. In the UK, it is customary to send flowers when a loved one dies. However, there are a few unwritten conventions about who sends what type of flowers.
Traditionally, the coffin spray and name tributes will be selected by the immediate family. The name tribute consists of floral letters that spell out the name of the person that died or the relation they were, such as ‘mum’ or ‘husband’. The coffin spray is the main floral tribute and it will be laid on the top of the coffin for the journey to and the duration of the service of remembrance.
Personal tributes can be created that reflect something important in the life of the deceased, and these are often created as floral pillows. It is not unusual to see football, butterfly, cricket bat or teddy shaped floral tributes. Again, these are often sent by those very close to the deceased.
Posies, funeral wreaths, flower sprays and sheafs are seen as a sign of respect and remembrance, and suitable as a floral tribute from friends, colleagues or family. They can be sent to the funeral directors, crematorium, church or to the home of the deceased. Heart wreaths are popular and are an expression of love.
The family may choose a colour scheme and ideally you should stick with this. The colour will probably have a particular link with the deceased, such as their favourite colour or their favourite football team colours.
By using a local florist you can be sure that they have worked with the local funeral directors before. They should be empathetic to your feelings and be able to help you choose a fitting tribute using seasonal flowers and herbs. They should also be able to get your choice of flowers to their destination looking as fresh as when they left the shop.
Whilst there are conventions as to what flowers should be sent to a funeral, the main thing is that the flowers show your love and appreciation of the person that died, and so it is more important that you send flowers in the first place, rather than to worry about if they were the right ones. If the flowers are sent with genuine love, then they are the right flowers.
The attached card is also an important part of the floral tribute and it is likely to be kept by the family. The words that you write on the card will be held dear by the family for years to come.
Funeral flowers are an important part of funerals and they are part of remembering the life of the deceased and the affection that people felt towards them. Beautiful sympathy flowers can mean so much and are a fitting tribute to send when a loved one dies.

There are different ways of presenting flowers. They include the traditional bunch or a bouquet that we have been making and giving for ages. But, these days one gets to see so many different types of flower arrangements that one is totally confused regarding which type of floral arrangement to go for while ordering flower delivery.
Flower delivery companies now arrange flowers in so many different ways and styles that add value to the natural beauty and colour of the flowers. These arrangements are not only suitable for gifting purposes, but can also be used to decorate one’s home.
The Bouquet is one of the most popular and commonly used forms of flower delivery. It is just a seemingly random arrangement of either a single flower or a variety of flowers. It can be used at both formal and casual occasions, i.e., for gifting a close friend as well as for greeting a government dignitary.
The Bunch is the easiest form of delivering flowers, again quite popular. In fact, even before the bouquet came along, people presented flowers to each other in bunches. Though it is a very crude form of putting flowers together, but it has a touch of informality and warmth to it. You can add on to its charm by tying it up with decorative lace and ribbons.
The third most popular form of arranging flowers is in the form of a Wreath. This is considered one of the most ominous and unpleasant forms of flower delivery, since it is used mainly for funeral ceremonies or while paying tributes to anyone who has passed away. It is the only form of flower arrangement that signifies solemnity and grief, though some people use Wreaths as decorative items as well.
These are a few ways in which flowers can be arranged for flower delivery. These are easy to make and not even too heavy on the pocket. In fact anyone can put together a bunch, bouquet or a wreath even at home, if he has a few flowers with him.

Christmas is a time for joy and family reunions. Never mind if the economy is not doing well and that you cannot afford to buy expensive gifts for everyone this year. Christmas can still be very enjoyable even if you do not have a lot of money to spend. To get home ready for the holiday season, you should start working on your Christmas décor as early as possible. No, you do not have to buy those expensive Christmas decors.
You can always use the Christmas decors that you used last year and then add plenty of poinsettia flowers to make your home really lovely. If you happen to live in the countryside and you have space for gardening, it should not be difficult for you to grow your own poinsettias in time for the holiday season. They key here is to buy some of those plants with think and stocky stems. These plants usually thrive better than those with smaller stems. When it comes to colors, you should go for those plants that display deep and intense colors.
Plants with deep and intense colors will make good Christmas decors. To make your plants look even better, you should put them in beautiful decorative pots. Terracotta pots will nice designs will do nicely. What if you cannot afford to grow your own poinsettias, what should you do? If you happen to live in one of those windowless apartments in the city and you cannot grow your own plants even if you want to, you might as well buy some of those artificial Christmas decors.
