On 12/11/10 the Civil Air Patrol assisted WreathsAcrossAmerica in laying wreaths on graves of service men and women at Arlington National Cemetery. This video excerpts a speech by Chief of Staff, USAF, General Norton A. Schwartz after the wreath laying at the Women in Military Service memorial. Every year – the group Wreaths Across America honors fallen soldiers in the U.S. by placing wreaths on the graves during the holidays. What began as a small effort at Arlington National Cemetery just outside Washington has grown into a national tradition spanning 350 military cemeteries nationwide. VOA’s Maria Yunko and Ruslan Petrychka were on hand for this year’s wreath laying event at Arlington National Cemetery.
