SRC Checkmate. Audio live 69. Live SRC video sections 2003 by Michael Krawczyk. The short 8mm at start is from several years before SRC played there. Below is the story from the GPnews. Edith Norton (De De) Lord became Alice Saturday night, June 20, for the Wonderland debut dance given in her honor by her stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Tobey Hansen, at their Cloverly road home. De De, who is also the daughter of the late John Norton Lord, designed her white organdy Alice pinafore with hem embroidery of bright silk flowers over a long white organdy jumpsuit. Her parents were King and Queen of hearts, with royal crowns. Mrs. Hansen wore a formal gown of flowered silk, her baleau necklace detailed with petal scallops of matching material. Wonderland was the Hansens garden, with scenes and characters from the Lewis Carroll classic, executed by Mrs. Henry Petri and Odley Grossman, creator of the Detroit Institute of Arts beautiful puppet sets, everywhere and floating hearts, diamonds and clubs dotting the surface of the pool. Dancing was under a large white tent, to the strains of SRC, and the midnight breakfast menu featured eggs, bacon and lasagna.

awesome!! So there is a LIVE SRC disc available??? one very underrated bands.
@westpalmscott says their First Lp was poorly recorded? don’t believe that jive.its sounds amazing! It was just poorly received and poorly understood. SRC rarely discussed! Get all 3 of their albums if you dig eclectic, whimsical music. If you like Conor Oberest (bright eyes) you will love Milestones (that checkmate is from) It’s prototype shoegazer mixed with Progressive rock and insane Fuzz and Hammond. Thanks

Anyone growing up in the late 60s and early 70s in Detroit or Ann Arbor knew these guys well. The first album was poolry recorded but Milestones was much better. I got to see them with The Amboy Dukes in the summer of 71 at the Eastown theatre. They disbanded shortly after
