You say you’re ready to do some special floral arrangements using natural product to add to your home accessories. How & where do we begin? Let me be your guide, just come with me to my favorite dried flower wholesale supplier at www.schustersoftexas.com. Now that we’ve gotten the supplies we need, get started with these step by step instructions. Layer #1, place 3 natural Sun Palms in staggered positions; Layer #2, mix in the preserved foliage of the burgundy Lasianthia leaves; Layer #3, add 2-3 dried Hydrangeas in the vibrant colors of burgundy/blue (pinch off a bloom or two to glue onto the Sun Palms in selected places); Layer #4, add a few bleached bell caps with 3-4 natural colored Mahogany Pods. Final step, tie together with a gathered-up bow of natural raffia, leaving curly streamers. Hang-on the front door to welcome your visitors with colorful pizzazz.

Lead your guests into a floral paradise using the exotics of Ting Ting flowers in candy pink with Twisted Ting Ting in Boudreaux & Flax Grass in what else but Bordeaux. Select at least 3 Banksia in Bordeaux to serve as the center of interest. Place around the Banksia the Ting Ting flowers & Twisted Ting, pulling blades of the Flax Grass at random. Poke-in several stalks of 20” natural Cane Coils & Cane Springs, to be the tallest points, keeping the arrangement loose & airy. Set these in an appropriate container such as a milk glass vase or clay pot.

With all this decorating going on, keep in mind the different aromas available in potpourri. Being the crafty, decorative genius we are, we can make our own using natural products from our wholesale source, www.schustersoftexas.com, using the preserved flowers & preserved foliage available. We can combine the burgundy preserved Peppermint with the burgundy preserved Cedar Leaves. Tempt our palate by adding the purple or red Eucalyptus. Arrange these into a bundle form, placing the cedar & peppermint on the bottom with stems overlapping in the center. Place the Eucalyptus gingerly on top of the above, along with a couple of cinnamon sticks. Wrap this bundle of nose twitching treats with several strands of raffia for home accessories to bring pleasure to all who enter. Place on a table in your entry way or lay on a window sill or hang as swags above the entry door.

Thinking on the same wave length or should I say following the aroma trail we’ll be using the preserved Eucalyptus dried wreath (wreaths are not just for hanging anymore).

Place it in a straw basket large enough to hold it up sideways. Add, to the wreath, just the heads of the merlot Celosia, using at least 5 good sized ones; mix-in burgundy Vabascum tips, letting them hang down & around the wreath. Make a nice sized raffia bow using the natural color & attach at the base of the wreath. How about that for an aromatic change?

Everyone I know loves plants. Since I have no green thumb, I rely heavily on dried preserved greenery such as the green Succulent with a mix of green Lasiantha added for fullness & natural color of the Phalaris & basil twisted Tin Ting snipped off to the length of your choosing. Place in a terra cotta pot. Why not do several of these at a time to take to a neighbor or a shut-in, with a note attached “No Care Needed”? Wouldn’t that be a nice jester on your part?

Another option could find us using several 3’-4’ Birch Branch bundles mounted in a large container. Place a 30” Peacock Feather Spray down in front of the Birch. At the base fill in with green preserved hanging Amaranthus (fairly thick), having it spill (in different lengths) over the edge of a clay pot.

Since I like arranging things in threes, let’s form a small 7” circle using the grapevine garland, gluing yellow Star flowers at random on the vine. Fill the circle with sheet moss, making a nest. Pop in a colorful fake bird for a tweet treat. Group these last 3 floral arrangements together for a complete overview.

Your big day is over. Everything went wonderfully. You looked beautiful, your groom was handsome, the flowers looked and smelled great, and the food was as tasty as you imagined it would be. You just have one little problem. What should you do with all of those once-gorgeous flowers? Rather than throw them in the trash, consider these options to help you “give back” a little from your wedding day.
Use Centerpieces as Gifts
One way to honor those who helped make your wedding a special day is to give them a bouquet, perhaps a centerpiece, as a gift. Everyone loves fresh flowers, and with the right care those flowers will stay beautiful for a week or two after your wedding. The people that helped make your special day such a success can relive the beauty of your wedding every time they look at your beautiful flowers.
Before you gift flowers, however, make sure they are a gift that can be enjoyed. A massive centerpiece may not be appreciated by someone living in a small apartment. Also, some of your guests may have allergies that will be irritated by a gift of flowers. However, many of your helpers will be able to enjoy your flowers, making them an ideal gift.
Preserve Your Bouquet
You can have your wedding bouquet freeze dried to preserve it after your wedding day. Be sure you have this professionally done, as it takes special equipment to remove all of the moisture from your bouquet and preserve its shape and beauty. Once it is preserved, you can have it mounted to display in your new home. As long as you do not touch the bouquet, it should stay beautiful for several years. Imagine being able to show your children your wedding bouquet one day!
Having your wedding bouquet preserved is kind of expensive. If you have spent your entire budget on your wedding, you could request this as a gift from one of your parents or a close friend. When they ask you what they could give you to help you start off your married life, you could explain that you would like to preserve your bouquet. You also could use some of your monetary gifts to pay for this memory.
Start a Compost Heap
Composting is probably not on your mind on your wedding day, but if you intend to have a garden in your new home, your wedding flowers are the perfect way to start your compost heap. You can designate someone to collect the flowers after the party and take them to your home where the compost area is set up.
Keep in mind that a wedding bouquet or centerpiece is not entirely organic. There are wires, ribbon, Styrofoam, and other items in the bouquet. You will need to have someone remove these items and throw the flowers and leaves into the compost heap.
Once the flowers are in the compost heap, they can remain untouched until you return from your honeymoon. Then, you can add your kitchen waste and gardening waste to the compost heap as you begin your new life together. Soon you will have healthy compost that you can add to the soil of your next garden. Whether you want to grow food or plant flowers, compost, created with your wedding flowers, will help the plants grow big and stay healthy.
These options are much better than simply tossing the flowers in the trash. You paid a good amount for your wedding flowers. By gifting them, preserving them, or using them as compost, you can get even more benefit from the investment. Not only that, but you are also keeping more stuff out of the landfills, helping you to protect the environment as you clean up from your wedding.

All over the country, geraniums parade their red and scarlet, rose, pink, and sallow blooms with a gay abandon that few other plants can rival. In boxes on city fire escapes and rooftops, in pane boxes on suburban and country houses, in tubs and pots on terraces and patios , and in lynching baskets of the porches of summer cottages, they are beloved and respected plants It wants sun to enlarge; it tolerates shade, where it is mostly handled as a flora place. What it resents is too much dampness and a fertile diet. Kept too wet, the trees shot blonde; given a bodyguard soil, one high in nitrogen plants go to shrubbery and flower thinly. Even if you show no other plants, you could have a pied preserved backyard of unmarried and double zonal, expensive-leaved or variegated, perfumed-leaved, ivy and Lady or Martha Washington geraniums (also called show or interpret geraniums), not to declare a few oddities of cactus and climbing types. Obscurity characterized the zonal geranium circular markings on the rounded green trees. Double types dominate the trade and are existing by florists in the spiral for planting in gardens and period boxes. Variegated geraniums, with foliage that are steadily brilliantly tinted, are attractive even out of tinge. Set among green-leaved geraniums and other foliage plants, pots of the variegated plants add blush and sample. The trailing, ivy-leaved geraniums are among the most profuse peak when adult under approving conditions. They dislike shade and high dampness and flower best in climates with ardent living and cool nights, as in California. Lady Washington’s, considered the handsomest of geraniums, are not so cool to grow. Like the ivy-leaved, they wish cool nights and kindly, sunny time, preferring shelter from encircle and all-day sun. If you are a geranium gardener, you may want to spark your pot workshop collection with some cactus and climbing geraniums. They will give you fantastic and fascinating forms and flora and are certain to arouse expansion. Geraniums grow and look well in pots, boxes, and planters. They flourish in countless soil mixtures if drainage is good. For abundant bloom, however, supply an elite preparation, not high in nitrogen, or lavish foliage and few blooms will result. I have winner with good garden soil and a sprinkling of a 5-10-5 fertilizer and bone meal. During the upward season, plants react to a low-nitrogen fertilizer in liquid form. When potting, be generous with drainage things to cover free passage of water. As with any workshop, forever water with problem, since too much or not enough can be harmful. The best decide is to water when the exterior of the soil feels dry. Then immerse the soil well and do not water again until plants essential it. If soil is kept too wet, plants will bend golden; if too dry they fade and tinge. To swear even lodge progress, circle containers from time to time. Remove fair foliage and gray blossoms which are especially distracting on plants at doorways or any other key acne. If downpour rots and disfigures the axis florets of the heads, entice them off with your fingers, parting the unmarred surface florets and buds. If you want plants for next pounce, take two- to four-creep cuttings in August or early September. Look for mature stems (with foliage spaced close together) that solve simply like a crack bean. Woody swelling is hard to basis and moist tips lean to rot. Before planting allot out cuttings in a dubious place for numerous hours so foliage will fail extra humidity. When arranged to work, cut off the drop leaves, allowing but two or three to each sharp. Also appeal off the little wings on the stem, since they are tilting to rot. Dip stem tops in hydrated jade to avert decaying and then insert about halfway, in an absolute or large pot of genuine polish or a mixture of smooth and peat moss. With geraniums, rooting powders are scarcely basic. When cuttings expand edge-long roots, they are complete for spacing out in another boring or for discreet planting in 21/2-crawl pots. Fill with a mixture of three parts dirty loam and one part peat moss or leaf fashion. After planting, keep in the shade for the first few living, and make within before cold survive. When the separated cuttings have urbanized stanch rummage systems, change to 31/2- or 4-crawl pots. Use the same potting mixture as before, with bone meal added. Later as established plants begin to grow, feed periodically with a high phosphorous fertilizer, as 5-10-5 or 4-12-8. To keep plants wild and to advance branching, pinch while small, starting when they are three to four inches high. Provide sunny windows, and keep rotary pots to prevent lopsided swelling. Water regularly, but permit soil to dry out just a little between applications Plants may be wintered in cool cellars with little light. Remember only that the less light, the cooler the temperatures should be. This is because too much kindness and insufficient light root lanky evolution that undermines a healthful plant. Gardeners with cellars or sheds when temperatures continue above freezing, can coldness geraniums execution upside down from the ceiling. The lifeless-looking sticks, set out in pots or in the garden in friendly harden, will amaze you when they develop into glorious acme plants.

Flowers are a breathless way to fit out your table’s centerpiece with, or place in a vase so that the intoxicating perfume can fill with room. They are also fantastical to add some color to your garden and there are some types of flowers that are compatible with vegetable gardens.
To make the most of these flowers you can take ones that are known to look good in the various seasons. This way you can have a garden or even a ground decorate that is filled with the various flowers from spring, summer, fall and even wintertime ground flowers.
The best way to prefer the right types of flowers for a fee garden will be to look at the versatile annuals. These flowers are divided into Leash varieties like sensible annuals, Doubting Thomas Hardy annuals and half doughty annuals. You can also plant biennials and some exotic flowers nitrogen your garden.
The doughty annuals are great plants to have for winter seasonal types of flowers. In this variety you can find flowers like Viola, pansy, foxglove, madwort and others. The sensitive annuals are good when you want a howler of colors during the summer months. These flowers include morning glory, petunias, impatiens, begonias and world amaranth.
For example you can have baby’s breath, carnations, tulips, and daffodils mixed in with red and white roses. You can even plant low ontogenesis rose bush-league and surround them with a rug of pansies.
As you see the many dissimilar types of flowers that we see in our gardens look beautiful because their many dark glasses seem to run into each other complementing and bringing out the vivid coloring. These are not the only types of flowers that we can have in our homes you can have other types of flowers in our home by choice. Today you will see many unlike types of flowers that can be used.

Soap nuts have a long history when it comes to treating skin conditions such as eliminating freckles, erasing fine lines, and ridding cracks in the skin. Soap nuts have been used for generations in India to treat eczema and psoriasis effectively and in the past few decades have been used in Europe with very positive results. The best thing about using soap nuts is that they are safe and effective for people that are allergic to even the mildest form of astringents or cleansers that are purchased in the stores. In most cases, even the cleansers that are labeled allergy free or for sensitive skin can be damaging to sufferers of eczema and psoriasis. Soap nuts have also been used in the United States for people who have been diagnosed with these skin conditions.

Soap Nuts for Eczema? It has always been recommended that people with skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis should not use any type of cleansers on their skin. This is almost impossible considering that cleansers are in just about everything that is used commonly around the household and it is said that people who suffer from these types of skin conditions should try to avoid anything labeled as a detergent or soap. Soap nuts are among the list of herbs and minerals in Ayurvedic shampoos and cleansers and they are used in Ayurvedic medicine as a treatment for eczema and psoriasis. Eczema affects both males and females alike and age is not a factor. Common symptoms of mild eczema can include dry, hot and itchy skin but more severe forms of the condition can result in the skin becoming raw, broken and bleeding.

Helping Eczema & PsoriasisRather than having to resort to prescription medicine to treat your eczema and psoriasis, first try ground soap nut husks as they provide a totally natural chemical free detergent for treatment. Soap nuts are recommended for babies and for people who develop allergies to conventional washing products, as they contain no allergenic substances. This is extremely important for those who suffer from skin disorders because many times the clothes that are being washed can trigger the skin condition and cause it to worsen. Soap nuts are all natural and have no smell to them which is the main reason that they are so successful in ridding skin disorders and preventing future outbreaks.

Soap Nut StudiesMany studies have proven that some people who have eczema have had their problems diminish after switching to soap nuts as a laundry detergent and as a skin cleanser. Soap nuts lead to stable soapy foam when they come in contact with water. Saponin’s can replace conventional chemical detergents such as sodium laureth sulphate that are becoming increasingly unacceptable to the consumer due to fears concerning the safety of the chemical. Naturally occurring, Saponin’s provide the foaming agent necessary in shampoo or shower gel that are gentler on the body and more environmentally friendly. According to Professor C. Kamaswara Rao of the Department of Forests Environment and Ecology of the Government of Karnataka, the biggest environmental benefits of the soap nuts in conjunction with prevention and elimination of skin conditions is through its anti-microbial and anti-bacterial properties.

For more information visit http://www.BuySoapNuts.com

The Life Everlasting Flower is a member of the mint family and derives its name from the powerful and lingering scent of curry when the leaves or stems are crushed. It is indigenous to North America, especially around North and South Carolina, and has long been used for countless healing and therapeutic purposes. Known variously by the Latin name Helicrysium stoechas and by the local name of cudweed, Life Everlasting Flowers appear on downy stalks in numerous crowds of white flowers. They carry a supportive and comforting aroma and are known to induce sleep. The Life Everlasting Flowers are commonly recommended in herbal meditation blends for encouraging spirituality and personal growth. The aroma is believed by some to open the right side of the brain, improving creativity and dream activity. The flowers are also valued particularly for their decorative beauty in dried floral arrangements and wreaths that last for years. Dried herbs of the plant make a relaxing tea infusion or bath. The Life Everlasting Flower herb is a perennial root that creeps and propagates easily almost like a troublesome weed. But its medicinal and therapeutic applications are extensive. Some people have chewed the leaves and flowers as a remedy for mouth and throat ulcerations and they are used regularly as a natural astringent. The Life Everlasting herb was even a substitute for smoking tobacco with New England fisherman. Smoking the herb in a different way by inhaling the smoke of the burning herb was at one time considered good for coughs of the lungs and headache. Fresh juice from the Life Everlasting Flower has been said to be an aphrodisiac. The flowers are attributed with a small litany of properties: expectorant, diaphoretic, anodyne, astringent, ectoral, and expectorant, to name a few. The Life Everlasting Flowers are applied for problems with pulmonary. diarrhea, dysentary, coughs, colds, pains in the breast. Powders and warm infusions of the Life Everlasting herb have been used in leucorrhea, diseases of the bowels, and for hemorrhages. The herb is used in poultices for sprains, painful swellings, bruises, boils, bug bites—even tumors and contusions. The Life Everlasting Flower is steeped in American Indian history. Different tribes used decoctions to treat a myriad of neurological and skin disorders. They made tea infusions with the flowers for asthma, bronchitis, and colds. Currently, the Life Everlasting Flower has been increasingly used in blends for skin and bad bruises for how it seems to reabsorb blood into tissue and remove pain and discoloration from nerve damage. The therapeutic and medicinal versatility of the prolific Life Everlasting Flower is as prodigious as its name. Its gentle but powerful healing has lasting effects, from teas and baths to old fashioned wreaths.

Sweet flowers alone can say what passion fears revealing

Thomas Hood poem, The Language of Flowers

Flowers and bouquets of flowers have a meaning of their own. Most of us know that a dozen red roses means, “Be mine.” But did you know, for example, that a primrose means, “I can’t live without you,” or that a purple hyacinth means, “Please forgive me,” or that a pink carnation means, “I’ll never forget you,” or that a gladiolus means, “Give me a break?”

Flower meanings have been used to convey ideas, feelings and messages for centuries. The word, floriography, has been coined for the assignment of meaning to flowers. There is a meaning to colors of flowers, to numbers of flowers, and to groups of flowers. It is a silent language that has been largely lost to us through lack of use.

In addition to the obvious choices of color and variety, the language of flowers also includes the way flowers are worn or presented. Presenting flowers upright conveys a positive meaning, but if they are presented upside down the meaning is the opposite. If a ribbon is included with the flowers and is tied to the left then the meaning of the flowers refers to the giver, but if the ribbon is tied to the right then the meaning refers to the recipient. Also, flowers can be used to answer questions. When they are presented with the right hand the answer is “yes,” but when presented with the left hand the answer is “no.”History

The Turks in the 17th century seemed to develop flower meanings. In 1718 the wife of the British ambassador to Constantinople, Lady Mary Wortley, wrote a letter expounding on the “Secret Language of Flowers” that she had discovered during her visits to Turkey. Europe quickly picked up on the concept.

In 1819 Louise Cortambert, under the pen name, Madame Charlotte de la Tour, wrote and published what seems to have been the first dictionary of the flower language entitled, Le Language des Fleurs. It was a small book, but it became a popular reference on the subject.

During the Victorian era, the reign of Queen Victoria from 1837 to 1901, the meaning and language of flowers became increasingly popular. Victorian women especially picked up the silent language that allowed them to communicate feelings and meanings that the strict propriety of the times would not allow. Tussie-mussies, a bouquet of flowers wrapped with a lace doily and tied with a satin ribbon became a popular and valued gift of the times.

In 1884 a whole book on the subject and entitled, The Language of Flowers, by Jean Marsh and illustrated by Kate Greenaway, was published in London. It became popular and respected and has been the standard source for Victorian flower meaning ever since.Selected Flower Meanings
